The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life is thrilled to announce new extended hours on Thursday evenings designed to provide greater access to our community.
The galleries will be open during the University of California, Berkeley’s Spring 2023 semester Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11am-4pm and Thursdays from 11am-7pm. The current exhibitions include In Twilight: Ori Sherman’s Creation, Time Capsules. The Magnes: 10 Years at UC Berkeley, and An Archive of Archives: Roman Vishniac’s Exhibition History | New York, 1971-72.
“Extended hours along with our free admission give the community more opportunity to experience the collection and visit the exhibitions.” said Hannah Weisman, Executive Director of The Magnes. “By staying open until 7 pm on Thursdays, people can drop in after work, between classes, or before heading to a show at Cal Performances or Berkeley Rep.”
Located at 2121 Allston Way in downtown Berkeley, California, The Magnes Collection looks forward to welcoming visitors, community members, and students to enjoy exhibitions, programming, research, and events.
The galleries are open to the public beginning January 17, 2023 during the following hours:
Tuesday 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Wednesday 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Thursday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
