In celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month.

The Jewish Arts & Bookfest brings together authors and artists for panel discussions, workshops, readings, teen programs, and performances that showcase the Jewish experience through art, culture, and storytelling.

In person at the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life, 2121 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA

Submissions for the 2026 Jewish Arts & Bookfest now open!

We welcome your interest in offering a program as part of the Jewish Arts & Bookfest! We are seeking a diverse array of presentations by authors and artists whose work engages Jewish heritage and culture. Program slots will be 50 minutes. All applications will be reviewed by the Arts & Bookfest Planning Committee to create the most dynamic day of programming possible. 

Early applications and proposals bringing together multiple authors/artists as panels are encouraged.

Final deadline to apply is January 20, 2026. 

Become an Exhibitor

We have a limited number of tables available for individuals and organizations whose work engages Jewish heritage and culture. Tables can be used to share information or sell individual work.

This May marks the 19th annual celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month, an opportunity for all Americans to connect with the vibrant and varied American Jewish experience.

Venue Policies

For the safety and enjoyment of our entire community, no backpacks or bags larger than 12” x 12” will be allowed in the building and we reserve the right to inspect bags.  We are not able to have a coat and bag check. Please leave strollers at home.

No food, drinks, or water bottles will be allowed. Ticket holders can enter and leave as much as needed. A Middle Eastern food truck will be parked outside of the museum entrance and there are other food options within 2 blocks of the Magnes.
