United States

This CASE STUDY exhibition is a collection of pieces from throughout the history of the Emanu-el Sisterhood for Personal Service, which served the Bay Area’s Jewish women and girls for over seventy-five years. Photographs, correspondences, minutes, bylaws, reports, calendars of events, financial information, membership lists, and clippings, as well as building plans by Julia Morgan are included in the exhibition. The pieces on view offer a rare opportunity to look back on an historic organization that held a deep commitment to San Francisco.

Emanu-el Sisterhood for Personal Service is guest curated by Mary Ann Irwin. CASE STUDY exhibitions are presented to highlight the holdings of the Western Jewish History Center.
