Nikos Stavroulakis was a co-founder and director (1977-1993) of the Jewish Museum in Greece and the author of several books, including Jewish Sites and Synagogues of Greece, and Cookbook of the Jews of Greece. He was also active as a painter and illustrator, and his works have been exhibited in the USA, UK, Europe and Israel.
