“Liberated, Not Yet Free: Jewish Survivors in the Crucible of Post-war Europe”
After the Holocaust, over a quarter million Jews, known as the Surviving Remnant, remained in limbo for about half a decade, most of them in DP camps on German soil. Their plans to immigrate to the West or to Palestine were blocked by the Allies at almost every turn. Yet amidst profound grief, displacement, and uncertainty, their story is one of resilience, renewal, and hope.
