The Magnes Collection launches new website

November 1, 2021

BERKELEY —  UC Berkeley’s The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life launches its newly redesigned website, magnes.berkeley.edu.

“This gorgeous new website is a perfect complement to the exquisite treasures that make up The Magnes Collection,” says John Efron, Esther and Jacques Reutlinger Faculty Director of The Magnes. “Its bold colors and easily navigable, forward thinking design reflect our profound sense of purpose as we emerge from the last 18 months to present to you our precious artifacts in vivid and newly-imagined ways.”

Tad Taube, Taube Philanthropies chairman and lead contributor to the website redesign says “Taube Philanthropies invested in this new, visually vibrant, user-friendly website to broaden and deepen The Magnes’ opportunities as a major center for research, education, exhibitions and loans from its preeminent collections. The Magnes maps the Jewish world, and the new website enhances The Magnes’ position on the Jewish map.”

After an extensive auditing, restructuring, and redesign process by Hitch Media Group, Inc, The Magnes Collection’s revamped website has an engaging design, an improved user experience, and a more responsive interface. “Already a fantastic research resource,” Jeff Hurlow, Hitch Media Group’s Creative Director says, “we are honored to help expand the online presence of this amazing collection to a global community of art and cultural enthusiasts.”

Funded by generous donations through the Magnes Museum Foundation, this new website is a testament to the way supporters of The Magnes enable us to share our beautiful and critically important holdings and serve our community around the world.
