Kelber, J. M. (Jehiel M.) papers, 1953-1961

J. M. Kelber, whose family came from Russia, lived in Northern California. Kelber served as the chairman of the Israel Committee and of the Israel Bond Drive (1954-1961). He also assisted the Jewish National Fund; the date cited for his birth varies between 1883 and 1885.

The collection contains material relating to cattle breeding in Israel; the Jewish Community Center in Ontario, Calif., including newspaper clippings, a dedication program, and a yearbook (1956-1959); and B’nai B’rith, Ontario and Pomona Lodge, Number 1187. Also contains photographs and genealogical information about the Kelber, Simon, and Grodetsky families.
