Bubes (Rachel) correspondence and telegram, 1923-1924.

Rachel Bubes attempted to bring her brother-in-law, Haim Stankkevich, and his family to the U.S. Eventually, the Stankkevich family was able to immigrate to the U.S., after first moving from Shanghai, China, and then living in Vancouver, Canada.

Correspondence relating to Rachel Bubes’ attempts to get her brother-in-law, Haim Stankkevich, and his family into the U.S. The collection includes copies of letters Bubes received from local legal and financial authorities, as well as a letter and telegram from Congressman Julius Kahn.
