Rectangular music folio of a Yiddish song titled Der Durchgematerter Weg ("The Tormented Road"), lyrics by Gregor Schelkan and Lew (Lev) Aronson, and music by L. Aronson. Four-page score.

The cover includes the photographic portraits of the authors, former Nazi concentration camp inmates and musicians, cellist Lev Aronson (1912-1988) and tenor Gregor Schelkan (1916-1999), wearing their prisoners' uniforms. The composition dates from 1947, after Aronson had been liberated from a Nazi camp, then interned in a Soviet camp, and subsequently fled to the American Sector in Berlin.
