Weiss (Ben J.) papers, 1931-1957.

Ben J. Weiss, of Oakland, Calif., was, for a time, the secretary and treasurer of Oakland’s Temple Beth Abraham. He also helped the Jewish community in the Bay Area raise money, serving as the vice-chairman of Oakland’s general solicitation effort for the United Jewish Appeal. His wife was the president of the congregation’s sisterhood.

Consists of materials documenting Ben Weiss’s Jewish-related activities. Includes newspaper clippings; newsletters and correspondence from both Temple Beth Abraham in Oakland, California and Aleph Zadik Aleph; programs from Temple Beth Abraham; and an undated newsletter from the Jewish Federation of the East Bay on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal, which has a picture of Weiss.
